Undiscovered Wine Country – Mendoza, Argentina

wineWhen most people think wine, they think of California’s Napa Valley and the wine regions of Tuscany in Italy or Burgundy in France. But these destinations don’t have a monopoly on the art of wine production. One lesser known but growing wine region is the Argentine province of Mendoza, near the Andes mountain range and the border with Chile. The high-desert climate and favorable exchange rate makes this a great place for a lower cost wine-country getaway at any time of year. This rapid expansion has led to growth in the number of upscale resorts and new culinary hotspots.
